I'm not going to harp the details of it, most of it was information I already knew.

But I found a lot of anger and resentment in the comments regarding the "apparent lack of caring" by the DA staff regarding reporting infringement.  I rather disagree with that assessment.

People seem to think that DA has a massive staff of people dedicated to assessing reports and punishing violators.  While I think their staff is large, I don't think they all are sitting at their computers all day looking over the MILLIONS of reports that come their way regarding misuse, misappropriations, and infringement that has to come through their servers daily.  (This is not even mentioning the trouble calls they have to look into!)

I don't think most people understand the ratio of users to staff here.  I'm sure they're inundated with reports all the time.  I'm sure reports get lost, buried, over looked.  They're human, just like we are.

I'm sure that sometimes reports get looked into and there isn't enough evidence to support the claim of the report.  They don't get back to users - they don't have to - they don't have time to.

Sometimes I feel it's just users lacking patience to allow the process to be completed.

While this was going on various users dropped links in the discussion about ("infringers" ) who the users wanted taken care of.  I actually looked at a few of these links.  One in particular struck me.

Two profiles had the exact same images, one (I was  pretty sure the person was the original artist) had posted images back in late 2014.  The other claimed that the first stole them off a site that person had posted on five years prior and that was why the art was the same.

The person was ADAMANT in their denial, even when the art had signatures from the artist still attached.  How can infringers even TRY for that kind of argument when the proof is against them?  Yet almost every time, these trolls act as if either A) they've done nothing wrong or B) insist it's their art and the other people are lying?  Just by the responses I've seen the thieves are young , immature, and unable to communicate effectively (or in an intelligent manner) their position.  They often degrade into huge flame wars between the two users and each groups support.

What was weird (And this is digressing seriously) was that several of the images were posted at the same date and the same time.  So it struck me as odd... was it a elaborate hoax to stir drama in readers?  Were they in fact the same person posting two different places (Another DA violation BTW) and then creating a mock fight to get attention?

Are people really so starved of attention they would need to do something like this to get it?

Hmmmm... thoughts to ponder....
