Two Week Commish Window....

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 19, 2014, 9:10 AM
Good morning all.  As I sit here recovering from surgery, I find I have a lot of moments where I am bored!  LOL!  While I have my own work to do, I was thinking about opening some commissions as a way to fill up some of the void.

Do you have a sketch you'd like lines on?  Do you have lines you'd like colored?  *

Inking your sketch: $5 (400pts)
Coloring your lines (basic flats): $5 (400pts)

*Payment is expected when the commission is accepted.

If you have an idea you want to see "fleshed out" (All of the below are without backgrounds or simple single color bgs): **
SINGLE CHARACTER:

Sketches: $5 (400pts)
Sketches and Inks (IE Clean lines): $10 (800pts)
Sketches, Inks, and Flats: $15 (1000 pts)
All of the above + shading/textures: $20 (1200pts)

Simple background (IE not a color simple general BG work) add $5 to any of the above
Detailed background add $15 to any of the above
Additional characters add $10

**Half payment is expected upon approval of any draft work.  Remainder will be expected upon approval of the low res of the final image.

I will leave this open for two weeks and then close the offer: that will give me a week to finish up any commission still outstanding.

What I will do:
~Nudity and "sensual" images
~Anthro, people and animals
~Action scenes
~Blood and violence okay.

What I Won't  Do:
~Hentai, Porn, Bondage
~Slasher images (OVERT gore)
~Images of Copyrighted material. (I don't want to open that Pandora's box)

Interested please note me:  Por Favor include either reference images or a DETAILED description of what you want done.

I accept paypal and DA points!

Home Again

Journal Entry: Thu Dec 11, 2014, 6:08 AM
Just to let all my DA friends know, Surgery went off very well and I was able to come home yesterday afternoon.  Will say I'm still tired, quite sore and tender around the surgery site.  However I made it through and now on the road to recovery.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers while I was out!

Two Halves of One WHole

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 28, 2014, 4:13 PM
Refreshing this in my readers' heads! Any and all help would be appreciated!  :D

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is going to seem a bit out of the blue...
I am coming up on a surgery... many of you already know this.  I worry on one level that I will not be able to maintain a buffer while I recover from the procedure.
Full on comics tend to take a lot of my time, however... a thought occurred to me.  I used to come up with funny little strips called "Two Halves of One Whole" kind of a poke in my own eye about how many of my characters suffer from some sort of multiple personality disorder.
I was thinking about creating some more for those weeks where I may not be able to live up to my update schedule for one comic or the other.  They are only three cells, very simple line work/shading... and would be fairly quick to turn out.
That's where you all come in.  While I want to do this, my bank of ideas has rather run out.  So I am hoping that those of you familiar with my comic/books/characters, can help me come up with some material.
So if you're interested, please take a look at the existing strips, get a feel of the kind of thing I'm looking for.  I want them to be somewhat funny, tongue in cheek, but rather clean in nature. (the "Mass Appeal" strip is about as close as I want to objectionable material)
If I use your suggestion, you will be given full credit for the idea, feature the strip on the comic (Whether as a filler or as an extra either way).
Thanks for reading and I hope you all can help jump start the ole brain matter!
It's been a really really messed up week...
Journal Entry: Sun Nov 16, 2014, 12:57 PM
You'll notice I didn't advert any livestreams this week...
Yeah well with all the things happening this week I've not been in the mood for an audience.  I won't go into the multiple crap storms I've dealt with, those who know me and follow on FB you've seen... if you know my daughter you know...
I just don't feel like belaboring how bad this past week has been.  Soo... I am hoping this coming week will be better.  One week left of school before the Thanksgiving break.  I am going to need that week, I really am.
Not because of my kids...  rather because of real life in general.
HIatus Continues and Print books arive!
Journal Entry: Mon Oct 13, 2014, 6:40 PM
Hi all... I hope no one thinks I'm dead.  I'm still trolling through all of my deviation stacks, I've just not had much energy for doing more than that.  I need a few weekends at the house for things to seem normal again.  Heh....  That won't happen until hunting season ends (either with me culling a deer or the season coming to a close)... so this may not let up until early November.  O_o
Which means art production is currently at a very scary standstill.  Which is why not much is posted here at the mo... :(
I keep telling myself to take an hour or two, just do what I can... then I pull it up and nothing...it seems like too much work.  WTF?   yeah there's something wrong with my head... sigh... it's the time of year more than anything I think.
So bear with me and have a bit of patience.  I keep poking at it...
I got TAGGED.
Journal Entry: Sun Sep 7, 2014, 9:44 AM
:iconelsakroese: got me.  LOL! So here goes....
Rules of BEING TAGGED:
1. You must post these rules.
2. Each person has to share ten things about them.
3. Answer the ten questions asked to you and invent ten questions the people you tag have to answer.
4. Choose ten people and put their icons on your journal.
5. Go to their page and inform them they are tagged.
6. Not something like "you're tagged if you read that".
7. You have to legitimately tag ten people.
8. No tag backs.
9. You can't say that you don't do tags.
10. You MUST MAKE A JOURNAL ENTRY.
(Rules, why so serious? o.0)
Ten Things About Me:
1. I spent 21 years serving in the US Navy as an aircraft Mechanic.
2. I am a California transplant... but I consider myself a native when that happened when I was two.  And yes, I love living in this state.
3. I spent my summers growing up on the ocean fishing nearly every weekend.  I still love fishing to this day - and saltwater over freshwater.
4. Similarly, I love to hunt, mostly big game, and yes for the meat.  I'm not into trophy hunts.  Which is why you'll never see me hunt a big cat or a coyote or a wolf.  I see no purpose in those.
5. Most already know this, but I am a writer in addition to an artist.  In fact, IMHO I am far better at creating stories than illustrating them.  I am currently working on my 5th book release and am simultaneously revising M&A for a 10th anniversary 2nd edition.
6.  I am still a huge comic book fan, and that I've recently discovered a local comic book shop could be the death of me.  Death Vigil... you are on my list...
7.  I created a monster.... yes... I grew up watching G1 Transformers and exposed my daughter :icontopkicker26: to the fandom and... well... lets just say she's a bigger geek about it than I EVER was! LOL!
8. I've always been fascinated with monster movies... I grew up watching the classics.  Vampires especially have been a favorite.  And NO I do NOT consider Twilight vampire movies!
9. I am a self-taught artist in most respects.  I've only had one semester of formal schooling.  Additionally I taught myself to type when I got my first computer back in 1991.... Call me stubborn if you must.  LOL!
10.  I've been married to my husband for the past 21.5 years... a heck of an accomplishment these days.
My questions to be answered:
1. Which of these crafts would you pick if you could learn one for a whole year: stone carving, blacksmithing, glass blowing, wood carving.
Wood Carving.  I tried my hand at it when I was younger and rather liked it.  I would like to get more skilled at it.
2. If you had to give up one of your 5 basic senses, which one would you sacrifice?
Oh.... kay... uh...  I think I would give up taste, the ability to smell would allow me to fill in the gaps on food.  I rely way too much on the rest to give them up.
3. In return for that sacrifice, you get to pick a superpower!
Flight... yes please. (like my own set of wings)
4. What's the last book you've read?
The Last City
5. You can have either a dragon or a spaceship. Which do you pick?
DRAGON definitely!
6. What (video/board/card)game consumed the most hours of your life?  Bioshock Infinite and Borderlands 2 are about even right now.
7. You're going on a road trip. Which superhero/villain would you invite along?
Archangel (See which superpower I wanted.  :P)
8. Do you have any piercings/tattoos?
Yes a colored tribal of a dragon on my left thigh.
9. You've build an experimental robot. The robot turns out to be hyper intelligent. Do you shut it down or do you set it free?
Set it free... and hope it has a good moral program.
10. Lego or Playmobil.
OOOooo tough one.   I loved them both growing up.  I would have to go with Playmobil though....
Who to tag ...who to tag:
My Questions to you all:
1. What do you love most about doing art?
2. If you were to have a choice of vacation spots where would you go:  Australia, The Caribbean, or Europe?
3. Bike, Car, or Bus?
4. Gargoyles,  Transformers, or Ninja Turtles?
5.  How did you first start watching me? (I truly am curious!)
6. Playdough or Silly Putty?
7. What kind of books do you like to read? (Specific genre would be good)
8. What decade of music do you most associate with?
9. Your favorite animal (real or imaginary)?
10.  Would you go back to your high school days if you could do it over again?
ENJOY!  Thanks :iconelsakroese: (I think! :P)
A real quick update....
Journal Entry: Fri Sep 5, 2014, 5:39 AM
Yeah, sorry about the lack of art updates of late.  Of course since the school year began, I've been busy.  Not to say I haven't been doing art.  I've just been rather lacking in the extra time to post it.
I hope to get my queue built back up again for automatic updates and hope to get some buffer built this weekend.  Depends upon some other school related things I MUST get done!  HEH.
Not to mention me still doing final edits on Tales from the Dead Zone.  Little over halfway through the readthrough.
Hope all is well with all my friends!
I'll write a longer post tonight with an adult beverage in my hand Kay?  Laters all!
Print books Available..
Journal Entry: Sat Aug 23, 2014, 8:32 PM
EDIT:  As I was sorting through my inventory of books I came across a book with a flawed cover.  This copy of TOHS: Redemption has a slight curl to the front cover and the edge of the same cover is delaminating.   I cannot, in good conscience, sell this book for the full price.    There is no other issue with the condition of the book, so I would say it is in GOOD condition.
So I am offering it to whomever is interested in a reduced cost, less-than-perfect copy of the novel.  Retail is $12, but make me an offer....(No less than 50% of the cost however) plus shipping.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good evening!

As I ramp up for the soon to be published TOHS: Tales from the Dead Zone, I have recently gone through my physical inventory and I currently have the following volumes available for immediate purchase:

1 copy of Gemutations: Plague $12 + shipping
2 copies of Brothers Martin: Forgotten Ties $15 + shipping
7 copies TOHS: Redemption $12 + shipping

Price includes autographing!  If you are interested please note me and we can arrange for paypal.  I'm willing to negotiate bulk deals for less price.

Also when TOHS: TftDZ (Vol 1) comes out I will be ordering extra copies of books I am short on/out of.  Which include the following:
TOHS: Before the Fall (5 copies)
Gemutations: Plague (5 copies)
Forgotten Ties (3 copies)
TOHS: Tales from the Dead Zone (10 copies)

Consider this a preorder request....  However if the count goes over the amounts I'm already ordering, I will ask for the payment in advance via paypal.

Please contact me via PM if you are interested in physical SIGNED copies of any of the above titles.

**You will note that Gemutations: Mercenaries and Angels is not on this list.  First edition is out of print - and I am out of my physical inventory for it AND I will be publishing the second edition next April.  :D

Dead Zone Pre Orders!

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 22, 2014, 5:44 AM
Tales from the Dead Zone is NOW AVAILABLE for Kindle preorder!  The book will be released on October 1st.  Each download is $1.99!

www.amazon.com/Tales-Dead-Zone…

There will be also the option of buying the print version for $10 with a matchbook deal where you can get the download for free!  :D (This option will be after the book is available in print!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay!  Dead Zone Update!  I finished putting the manuscript together last night including all extras and peripherals.  I have sent the file in for review through Createspace.
When I get the word back that they are good to go, I will be sending them over to KDP to get THAT file set  up.  So I hope to have information on Cost for print and kindle versions by tomorrow evening(??)
The cost for the print version is going to be $10.  The book is 251 pages including pictures and extras. (yes this is a rather short one for me! :P)
I'm looking at about $1.99 for the Kindle version...but need to verify the profit per book will be worth it.
Hopefully that means by next Monday, I will be able to set Dead Zone up for PRE-ORDERS!!
Well that sucks....
Journal Entry: Thu Aug 21, 2014, 8:22 PM
Last night I went to work on the next Plague page in the queue only to find out that Photoshop just disappeared off the face of my computer.  You heard right... it somehow uninstalled itself.
The nearest thing I can think of is that the recent "Unable to start" and "restore to previous save point" conspired to bring it back to a time where I had uninstalled it in an effort to fix a glitch I was fighting...
Soooo.... I try reinstalling... to be told there was an error while installing the program.  So I uninstall it... only to be told there was an error UNinstalling...  In a fit of frustration I said F*it....
I took the entire computer back to factory settings...  Now some 24+ hours later I THINK I'm back in business.... but now it is way too late for me to even CONSIDER working on that page.
It still remains to be seen if the move will help cure the RAM glitch I was dealing with in trying to photoshop/procast/pandora all at the same time... maybe early Saturday I can give it a try and see how it goes.
There were some serious oh shit's along the way... like not writing down/ finding my login for my FTP before I slicked it and started over!  LOL!
EDIT: After fighting to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop, Procaster and my tablet driver I'm tentatively hopeful I've fixed the issue... in case you want to keep me company for a bit while I work on this?
Dead Zone Update.
Journal Entry: Fri Aug 15, 2014, 7:32 PM
Today is the deadline for my promotion entries to come in.  Who needs more time??  If I don't hear from my remaining artists by the end of this weekend I will be doing up replacement images just to be sure the slots are covered and continuity exists between all stories in the collection!
SPEAKING OF....
I got an email from Kindle Direct Publishing with some really exciting news!  They are now offering a PRE-ORDER option for all new Kindle releases!  Who would be interested in that!? (I would be for authors I follow)
So my plan is to get "Tales from the Dead Zone" polished up in CreateSpace and then shared with KDP so I can get a pre-order set up for it ASAP!!
**IS EXCITED**
I will be putting up a poll to reflect this news and to see what kind of interest there is for the prospect!
ANNNNNDDD...
Starting Sunday August 17th and running  every Sunday through the last week of September, The Only Half Saga (Comic) is going to be featuring the awesome art I've received to help head the different stories! WOO HOO!  They will be in order of appearance in the book, and will feature links to the artists and a short synopsis of each story!
This is in addition to the usual Thursday updates!  YAY!
*DANCES*
Swing through and check them out!  (Those of you who contributed - :iconangel-chickxx:, :iconartbleed:, :iconshaharw:, and :iconearthmanprime: - may also post your promotion images at any point to help me spread the word about the upcoming release!  LUV YA!)
