I wanted to keep this reveal a secret a while longer, but my artistic skills aren't up to illustrating what was in the written work...
Which pretty much had us in his head feeling and hearing sensations as he woke up (without knowing it was Steve)...uh, yeah, I would probably just have confused the crap out of my readers trying that one.
